Return to Weeds
Red deadnettle or purple deadnettle (Lamium purpureum) and henbit (Lamium amplexicaule) are members of the mint family. They are winter annuals that produce flowers in early spring. Plants have square stems and shallow roots. Upper leaves of L. purpureum are often reddish in color.
