Morning Glories in Bramble Plantings
Return to Weeds
Morning glories (Ipomoea spp.) are common vines; most Kentucky species are annuals. Vines can readily smother desired plants and interfere with pesticide applications and harvest. Seed can remain dormant for decades.

Management:
- Physical removal of seedlings using hoes or string trimmers is effective if plants are cut below the cotyledons.
- Most herbicides are only moderately effective; spot applications of burndown herbicides may be effective.
